Howard L. Hayne's Obituary
Howard (Howie to his friends) was born in St. Paul, Minnesota on November 19, 1935. He spent most of his childhood in Minnesota and to this day he has family members still living there. After high school, Howie enlisted in the Marine Corp. After 2 years with the Marines he transferred to the Army where he had many duties with the Army Rangers from paratrooping to operating youth activities. Even after he retired after 22 years in the service, Howie continued to be active with sports and leisure activities. He operated a youth center and arranged leisure activities for senior citizens until his health required him to stop.Howie is survived by a sister Bette Jernberg of St. Paul, Minnesota; niece Rozelyn Swanson of Denver, Colorado; His long time companion Donna Kittelson of Olympia, Washington; step children Deborah Kittelson, Steve Kittelson, Vickie Burns and Thomas Kittelson; Memorial services will be held Friday August 30, 2002 10:00 A.M. at the Mountain View Valley Chapel with military honors. A graveside service will then follow at 12:30 P.M. at Tahoma National Cemetery Kent, Washington where Howie will be laid to rest.
