Helen L. Singleton's Obituary
Helen Singleton, better known as Granny Singleton, passed away on October 12, 2025, at the age of 95. She was born in Houston, TX on August 2, 1930, and has lived in the Tacoma area for the past 33 years. In her later years, after becoming a grandmother, she earned her master’s degree in criminology. Helen also worked as a volunteer probation officer for teenage girls, volunteered at local food banks, and served as Director at Little Angles Day Care in Omaha, NE, but her biggest accomplishment in life was raising her family. When asked if she would like to go somewhere, her standard answer was to the Emerald Queen Casino, a Seattle Mariners game or the Seattle Seahawks. She often invited people from out of town to stay at her home and they must join her in a Heineken Beer.
She was preceded in death by her parents, L.V. & Ada Pearl Robinett, her husband James Singleton, her daughter Veronica Singleton, her grandson Preston Singleton, her great granddaughter Elexa Robinson, her great grandson Aliže McLemore and great great granddaughter Ava Robinson.
She is survived by her daughters, Ada Pearl Singleton Auzenne (John), Dvorak L. Singleton; grandchildren, Tiffany Robinson, Gary Newte, Parisee Bosley (Brian), Danielle McCoy (Marvel), Erika McLemore, Kanika Newte, Damian Newte (Kristine); great grandchildren, Edward Robinson, Jr., Cameron Griffin, Elijah Robinson, Asia Jones, Alyssa McLemore, Camden Miller, Andre Miller, Gianna Lindsay, Preston Fant, Herbert Fant, Cyerrah Jackson, Jalaya Jackson, Daniel Goynes, Grayson Newte; great grandchildren, Jamal & Jalen Newte.
