Janet (Smith) Nielsen
To the friends and family of Helen Palmer,
I can remember when cousin Tom brought Helen over to meet my parents, Uncle Lyle and Aunt Madelyne (Palmer) Smith. A little later that day, Helen and Tom and I sat on the steps of the small back porch at 232 S 59th Street. I was impressed with the fact that they were clearly over the moon for each other.
I also began to see Helen as the warm and generous person that she has always been to me, and I am confident, to all who knew her. In recent years she and Tom gave me great comfort at the loss of my parents. She could really envelop one in a hug!
I cannot imagine the impact of this loss upon each of you, and I know that no one can really do or say the right thing in the face of such a tragedy. However, I know that I can pray for you all, and I will.
With great sorrow,
Cousin Janet (Smith) Nielsen
