Helen Louise Hulin
Helen passed away Jan. 20, 2010, surrounded by family after a 4 year fight with dementia. Born April 1, 1921 in La Platte, Missouri, Helen Ashlock was raised in Spokane, where she met Donald F. Hulin in high school. They married Oct. 2, 1941. After 21 years of moves by the Army, they settled in Lakewood, building a home where they raised 3 sons and 2 daughters. As a family they enjoyed camping, hunting, and fishing. Helen and Don traveled extensively. They were avid dancers, being charter members in the Roamin' Tacomans Square Dance Club. She was preceded in death by her husband and her daughter Suzanne. Helen is survived by her children Lance (Sheila), Terry (Linda), JoAnne, and Ron, along with 4 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. She volunteered extensively with the Emblems (Elks), Lakewood Senior Center, VA and Western State hospitals. A memorial will be held Monday Jan. 25, 2010 at 3:00 PM in the Mountain View Celebration of Life Center. A private burial will follow Tue. at Fort Lewis.
