Harry R. Harris' Obituary
Born in Tacoma July 8, 1938, and passed away March 31 after a courageous struggle with disability and illness. He was preceded in death by his parents Reed and Ruby Owen Harris and sister Darlene. He is survived by his sister Joeanne Walters, his loving wife of 43 years, Ivy, sons Jimmy, Michael and Patrick, daughter Colleen and 5 grand children. Next to love of family and many friends, Harry enjoyed the adventure of the great outdoors, especially the ocean. In the 60s and 70s, he made his homes in Ilwaco, Astoria and Tillamook where he lived his dream of commercial fishing in the Pacific Ocean aboard his boat "Grace Evelyn." After moving back to Tacoma, Harry survived a severe disabling injury and a difficult recovery in 1980. Despite the adversity, he went on to live a full life at Ocean Park on the Long Beach Peninsula near the ocean he loved so much. Memorial Services will be at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, April 6 at Holy Rosary Church, 512 South 30th St. Graveside services and reception will follow at 12:30 PM at Mountain View Funeral Home and Memorial Park.
