It's been a year (little over) since your passing and it seems like yesterday. It was a pretty fast year, that is for sure. For a long time it was weird going to your house and seeing your chair empty. People were afraid to sit in it because that was yours and only you sat in it. I hope your resting in peace knowing Aunt Peggy and everyone you left behind here on earth are doing just fine. For a while baby steps were being taken and living day by day, for the moment. Hopefully your up there with Papa and Stan looking over all of us and giving guidance the best you all can. I bet Papa and Stan have been riding the clouds side by side on Harley's :)
You may all be gone, but defiantly not forgotten.

I have known Harold since I was a little girl... My parents and myself moved in a few houses down when I was about 5 years old. He was so much like a grandpa to me and to both of my younger sisters... You could often find Harold keeping a watch on the neighborhood, coming down to our house to talk or out on both sides of the street edging the neighbors lawn. Harold was someone who you always looked forward to seeing... And it wasn't because everytime you went to his house he would give you candy or cookies. He had so many children and grandchildren to love, yet he found enough love still in his heart to love myself, Michele and Christina as if we were his own grandkids. Peggy has always expressed the same kind of love for us and we hope she knows how much she is loved and that our hearts and prayers go out to her and the rest of the family during this time.

I have known Harold my whole life, growing up 2 houses down from him. Him and Peggy have been like grandparents to me and my sisters. I will miss him, and I cherish my memories of him. Harold was a friend and neighbor for 26 plus years. During the years, we shared stories of our military service, kids and hundreds of world problems (It's possible we solved a couple of those problems). He constantly gave my daughters candy when they were little and knocked on his door to visit. I will miss my friend and I hope I learned something from his knowledge. My heart felt condolences go out to his family during such a hard and difficult time. From a former Marine to a former Army sergeant... I salute Harold for the man he will always be. My love always.
