Gordon Edgerly Moreshead's Obituary
Gordon Edgerly Moreshead, 72 of Ronald, Washington passed away on April 28, 2021 surrounded by his family. Gordon was born October 30, 1948 in Portland, ME and raised with two brothers and two sisters in Casco, ME. He graduated from the University of Florida with an engineering degree and began his career as a biomedical engineer with the Veterans Affairs (VA). After transferring to the Salt Lake hospital, he transitioned into medical software development. Upon retirement from the VA, Gordon started his own company, Informatix Laboratories Corp, which later became a subsidiary of Digital Storage Systems, Inc. He retired in 2018.
In 1976, he married Jann Silliman in Salt Lake City, where they resided for 40 years and raised their four children. He was a devoted father and beloved grandfather who spent time with his family camping, fishing, backpacking, biking, climbing, boating, skiing, snowmobiling and playing board and card games. Gordon and Jann moved to Ronald, WA in 2015.
During a lifetime of church membership, he was a devout follower and servant of his Savior Jesus Christ and found his calling in various ministries including youth ministry, music, finance, technology and missions. He traveled with mission teams to the Philippines to build and install a solar power system in order to facilitate the work of Wycliffe Bible translation. He also accompanied multiple Marovo Medical mission teams to the Solomon Islands to build more complex solar power systems and a state-of-the-art surgery theatre to improve operations in the Seghe village hospital. He was a member of Roslyn Presbyterian Church where he served to the glory of God in leadership and ministry as an ordained Ruling Elder.
Gordon is survived by his wife Jann Moreshead of Ronald, WA, and children, Emily Moreshead Bosh (Jason) of Tacoma, WA; Timmy Moreshead of Boise, ID; Rachel Moreshead of Tacoma, WA;, Anna Moreshead Schmitt (Brad) of Boise, ID; and grandchildren Lincoln, Adahlia, and Gideon Bosh, and Maxine Franz. He is also survived by a brother, Bill Moreshead (Chuluota, FL) and a sister Peggy Hartline (Harrisburg, PA); preceded in death by a sister, Pam Peace and a brother, Jon Moreshead.
A Memorial Service will be held at Roslyn Presbyterian Church, Roslyn WA on June 12, 2021 at 11am.
