GORDON C. FORSA Life Well LivedSeptember 27, 1920 Â- July 7, 2003Beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, his life was a demonstration of honor and integrity in all things. He was born to parents, Charles and Martha Fors of Tacoma and grew up to graduate from Lincoln High School and Knapp Business College.After working in the Tacoma shipyards and for Boeing during the war years and later for Peerless Laundry, Gordon entered the real estate business in 1950, and by 1958 had opened his own office. He served as president of the Tacoma Board of Realtors in 1963 and he was honored as Realtor of the Year in 1964. In 1970 he was chosen president of the Washington Association of Realtors. He also served on various committees for the National Association of Realtors.His community was enriched by his appointment to many committees for the City of Tacoma, as well as his commitment to the United Good Neighbors, Tacoma Chamber of Commerce, the Westside Optimist Club, and others. He was a member of Tacoma Elks No. 174. His favorite escape was to his cabin at Mason Lake.He was proudest of his family, however. He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Jacqueline, as well as daughters, Carol Robinson and Linda (Don) Reid; stepchildren, Kim Homestead, Jody Scalara, and Mike Scalara; 6 grandchildren, Melissa Reid, Jeremy (Brenda) and Jessica Robinson, Lisa Harris, Tyler and Travis Homestead; and 1 great-granddaughter, Ashlynn.He was preceded in death by his first wife, Jeanne, as well as by his sister, Minnie Matthews and two brothers, Paul and Loyd Fors.The family would like to thank the gracious employees of the Weatherly Inn for helping to care for Gordon for the last two years of his life.Funera1 services will be held on Thursday, July 10, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. at the Mountain Celebration of Life Building. The family would appreciate donations to the American Cancer Society, the AlzheimerÂ's Association or a charity of your choice.
