Merry Christmas Jill! I miss you so much. This Christmas is going to be different for us all but I know with the years to come we will only get stronger and soon Christmas will feel normal again. We have all been closer than ever and it feels so good to be a part of your family. I wish you could be here to see our bonds I know you would just love it. I've decided not to do Christmas this year and I really hope you don't mind. I haven't been able to take my mind off of you being gone and I just don't feel it's right to celebrate without my bestfriend here. I remember the first time I met Jill in the summer of 2006. I was super nervous to meet her because I loved her son so much I didn't want her to be disappointed. I was never shy but at this moment I was completely shy, I just wanted her to love me. I wanted to be a part of the family. Instantly that happened. Jill had such a kind heart and loved her kids so much. She was so proud of them and told them daily. She opened her house to me at the age of 18 and I am forever grateful for that! She took me in as if I was her own and treated me just like her other daughters! I was apart of the family. I will never forget our talks Jill and weirdly enough how every Christmas you would hang the mistletoe just so that you could try and catch a quick glimpse of David and I kissing (which hardly ever happened) I am so grateful that in the final months of your life you became my bestfriend! I will forever cherish those months that I was your caregiver! I wouldn't change it for the world and I am so thankful that David and I had a lifestyle that allowed for you to move in with us and be comfortable. Thank you for always being honest with me and for challenging David and I as a couple and really strengthing our relationship! I love your kids Jill and I am so happy to be your daughter in law! You're always on my mind. I love you

I share my heart and prayers with the Burslem Family. Words mean so little when your heart is broken. As hard as it is remember your ma with joy and laughter. She would want that for you. I mostly knew Jill from conversations with her daughter, Allison. I learned about her love for growing things. Jill shared with me some suggestions for growing things in a classroom with First Graders which I really appreciated. I also witnessed how proud she was of her children as she commented on many of their Facebook posts with words of encouragement. I was fortunate to get to meet Jill once as she toured Columbia Crest A-STEM Academy and even more blessed to be a colleague and friend of her daughter, Allison. Watching Allison and her siblings give time and care to the students of CC is a testament to the love their mother poured into them. Well done, Jill!

I never had the opportunity to meet Jill in person but I did get to see the reflection of her in her wonderful daughter, Allison! I also had the opportunity to meet her other children as each one of them could be found at Columbia Crest A-STEM Academy helping Allison out with her bigger-than-life ideas for her second grade class!!

Dear Allison, David, Jessie and Courtney, may you find comfort in all the wonderful memories you have of your Mom. Remember that she lives on in each of you and will be keeping watch over you guys ~ much love!!

Mommy, I love you beyond belief! I'd give anything to have one more hug, watch one more show with you, or eat one more dinner next to you. I could always trust and count on you to be by my side.
