Geraldine Maxine "Geri" Clapper's Obituary
Geraldine Maxine “Geri” Clapper of Tacoma passed away on August 5, 2013. She was 94 years old. She is survived by her daughters, Darlene Shofner of Branson, Missouri, Geraldine “Chickie” Lapide of Wrightstown, New Jersey, and a son, Alan Clapper of Tacoma, Washington, also numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. In her earlier years, she was a long tenured employee for A-1 Oil Company and acted as personal secretary for Curly Lodge. Her “spunky” spirit will be missed by all those who knew and loved her. Geraldine was an avid bowler at Coliseum Lanes and Pacific Lanes and she was loved by everyone. She received a plaque of recognition for 70 years of consecutive voting in the State of Washington. She loved cats and was often referred to as the “cat lady” taking in strays and giving them a loving home. “Her spirit will be on the biggest cloud in the sky, with all of her feline friends watching over all until we see her again.” At her request, no services will be held. Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society for Tacoma & Pierce County, 2608 Center Street, Tacoma, WA 98409.
