Gerald “Jerry” Dorfner was born on April 13th, 1936 in his mother’s home. Jerry is survived by his wife Florence of 62 years, his 3 children, 8 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and many other family members and friends. Jerry Read Obituary
Back in the early 80's Jerry and his partner mentored me as a student in the TCC paramedic program. Their fun loving, caring but yet serious attitudes when it came to patient care stuck with me during my successful 32 year career in the fire service. Thank you sir !

Dear Florence and Family,
I was so, so sorry to hear of Jerry's (sic) passing. He was such a wonderful man. When I was very young, I kind of thought of him as a hero. He was Fireman and to me that was the top of the line. As I grew, he was always so helpful to my Grandma and David, both medically and giving of his time! As I grew more and he was starting to have his medical issues, he still managed to come to the fence and talk to me and Kathy. Kathy and I had to speak way up and we enjoyed doing that for him so he could hear us. I will really miss seeing him on the porch and our conversations.

Jerry had a huge impact on the kids he coached and mentored at SEBC back in the day at the Club through Wrestling, Football, Parents Club and more! Many of those kids and fellow parents he worked with and supported will always remember him as being tough, fair and caring.
Jerry's professionalism and dedication to the Tacoma Fire Department and those he helped are to be remembered and cherished.
