I worked with Gene for over 30 years as his VIST Coordinator. He was such a fun guy. He was so full of life until near the end.
He made the life of other Blinded Veterans so much better.
I thank him for his service to our nation.
I want to express my sympathy to his children whom I have met many times.
Rest in peace.

Gene was my oldest brother, a very funny brother who overcame a lot of obstacles in life and excepted them with dignity.
I could tell you so many funny stories about him but I think the one that sticks out the most is when I lived at Travis AFB and he lived at Hamilton AFB I decided to extend my visit with he and his family when I remembered I had left some meat on the counter to thaw. He said,"no problem, give me your key and I"ll go to your house and put it away. Well opon arriving at my house he found I had given him the wrong key so with his determination to complete the task he decided to climb in a window only to be reported to Security by the neighbors. He had some real some explaining to do. Wow was he upset with me for giving him the wrong key. We had so many good times when we lived close.
He has a great family and he was a wonderful person.
