Fritz Arthur Grant's Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of a kind, gentle soul. Fritz Arthur Grant, 83, died on Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at his home in Puyallup, WA. Born September 26, 1932 in Oneonta, NY. to Edwin and Astrid Grant. Fritz is survived by his wife of over 57 years, Helen Grant. After graduating from Oneonta High School in 1951, Fritz joined the Navy and served on the U.S.S. Peterson DE 152. Three years later he enlisted in the army and was sent overseas. It was in 1957, after serving in Korea, when Fritz was transferred to Washington State and met the love of his life. There, they began their lifelong adventure together.
Fritz graduated from Fort Steilacoom Community College with a degree in Mid Management. He later worked at CertainTeed in Tacoma, WA and at Pasquire Panel in Sumner, WA. Following his retirement, he went on to serve the community as a board member of King’s Manor Assisted Living.
Fritz was extremely proud of his Swedish heritage and was a man of great faith. His passion was music and he loved singing in the choir at Lutheran Church of Christ the King. His other enjoyments were reading, bowling with his friends at Pacific Lanes, and spending time with Helen and their family.
