Frances Cecilia Schruefer's Obituary
Frances Cecilia Schruefer, aged 87, passed away in her home on September 4, 2024, in Tacoma, Washington. She was born on May 2, 1937, in Clovis, New Mexico. She lived in Lovington, NM until she left for nursing school at Texas Tech in Lubbock, TX where she met her husband who was in the Air Force. She was preceded in death by Robert Schruefer (husband) and survived by her two daughters and their husbands, Diana and Christopher and Theresa and Mitch.
Fran is remembered by her family and friends with great love. She was spiritually grounded accepting people with grace, kindness and compassion. She had a great sense of humor, loved life and traveled the world. She always knew where her family was in their lives and guided them with wisdom and understanding. Fran was of service to her community as a member and officer of P.E.O. (Philanthropic Education Organization), a church deacon, and school board member and president. She was always learning. She participated in book clubs, financial groups, and bible studies.
Fran is survived by Ruth (sister); Ty and Meagan (grandson and wife), and Owen (great grandson); and Devin (grandson). She was preceded in death by Pauline and Cecil (parents); Margaret (sister), Lonnie (brother), and Sid (partner).
A service to honor Frances's life will be held at 11:30 am on Saturday 9/14/2024 at Mountainview Funeral Home, 4100 Steilacoom Blvd SW, Tacoma, WA 98499. The family invites those who knew and loved Frances to join in the celebration.
