Eva Durr's Obituary
Eva Carol Durr, age 83, passed away peacefully on December 5, 2025, in Puyallup, Washington. Born in Prentiss, Mississippi, Eva’s life journey took her from the South to Missouri and eventually to Washington, which she proudly called home for many years. Wherever she lived, she brought with her a steady sense of grace, resilience, and warmth that drew people in and made them feel seen and cared for.
Eva dedicated her professional life to serving others as a Registered Nurse in the peri-neonatal unit. Nursing was more than a career for her; it was a calling. With a calm presence and deeply maternal spirit, she cared for families during some of their most fragile moments, offering reassurance, compassion, and quiet strength when it was needed most.
Outside of her work, Eva was known for the way she nurtured people beyond hospital walls. Her cooking was legendary among family and friends, not simply for the meals themselves, but for what they represented. Her kitchen was a place of comfort, connection, laughter, and love. Gathering people around the table was one of the many ways she expressed care, generosity, and joy.
A woman of Christian faith, Eva lived with humility, kindness, and an unwavering belief in lifting others up. She believed strongly in service and opportunity and was involved in helping establish scholarship funds to support future generations. She carried herself with elegance and dignity, finding joy in traveling, shopping, spending time with family, and celebrating life’s simple pleasures.
Eva was also an enthusiastic sports fan who loved college football, proudly cheering on her Ohio State Buckeyes, and faithfully supporting the Seattle Seahawks.
Above all, Eva will be remembered for her nurturing heart, her quiet strength, and her elegance in both spirit and presence.
She carried herself with dignity and grace, offering comfort without fanfare and love without condition. She had a gentle way of making people feel safe, valued, and at home. Her presence was steady, her spirit generous, and the light she shared with others endures.
She was preceded in death by her son, Kris Durr Sr.; her mother, Irene Hall; and her father, Johnny Hall. Eva is survived by her children, Ponce Durr and Cassandra, Alfranda Durr and Robin, and Michelle Grant and Alan; her grandchildren Isaiah, Chelsea, Tyree, Myles, Robin, Ramari, Tanya, Kris Jr., Kava, Deon, Kamden, and Oriah; and two great-grandchildren Zayden and Zander, all of whom brought her immense pride and joy. Private services will be held. In keeping with Eva’s wishes, her life will be honored as a celebration of love, service, and the many lives she touched.
