Erik D. Petrie's Obituary
Erik Dean Petrie, 28 Passed away suddenly on Saturday, August 31, 2013.
Erik was born on May 6th, 1985 in Tacoma, WA, and was raised in the Greater Tacoma and Gig Harbor areas where he attended Peninsula High School. Following high school, Erik worked very hard and became an accomplished auto mechanic. Erik enjoyed life - he loved his family and friends dearly and devoted his life to being surrounded by them. Many will remember Erik by the warmth they felt when he walked into a room, when he gave one of his big bear hugs, his contagious laugh and smile, his gentle nature and kind heart, his love of fishing, motorcycles and hunting, his love of cooking and entertaining, his amazing singing voice and love of music, but most of all we will remember Erik for the unconditional love, caring and kindness he has shown to all of us.
Erik leaves behind his loving parents - Steve and Lynn Phipps and Ron D Petrie and Denise Tiedeman, Brothers - Ron W Petrie, Bill Phipps, Jim Phipps, Damon Spear, Ryan and Thomas Sample, Sisters - Sonya Spear, Melissa Phipps and Anna Sample, Grandmothers - Marilynn Horner and Sigrid Petrie, Grandfather - Howard Horner, Nephews - Tyler and Justin Phipps, many Aunts, Uncles and Cousins and his most cherished dog Harley Petrie.
Erik was preceded in death by his Grandfathers Howard Petrie and Donald Joe Harper.
A Memorial for Erik will be held on September 13th, 2013 at 4PM. We invite all friends and family to join us at Life Center Church located at 1717 Union Ave in Tacoma, WA.
