Edwin Thomas Jarvis' Obituary
06-09-1928 TO 11-08-2004 Â"GO COUGARSÂ"Ed was born in Seattle and moved to Tacoma in 1933 where he resided until going off to WSU. He spent every summer of his youth in Boyds, WA broadening his city up-bringing and making an ever-lasting impression on him. He married Nancy Haywood in 1950 and soon after joined the U. S. Air Force to begin their life together rearing three children and traveling to numerous bases. Retiring in 1971, he worked at Fort Lewis for 16 years as their master locksmith. His happiest years were the seven spent as a volunteer at the University Place SheriffÂ's office from 1996-2003, totaling more than 10, 000 hours. He received many awards, one being the Â"Volunteer Of the YearÂ" award. Ed was a kid at heart, enjoying fishing, hunting, boating, and camping. He is survived by his devoted wife Nancy; daughter Kathleen Daly, sons Thomas and William, daughter-in-law Suzette, grandchildren Lenae Daly, Christopher Jarvis, great granddaughter Cydney Jarvis, and brother Donald Jarvis. A special thank you is extended to Chaplain Alvie Robbins, Lindsey Edkland, Dr. Tom Baker and Dr. Donald Lee, the oncologist nurses at St. Clair, and nurses Laura and Celeste and all the Franciscan Hospice team whom helped make EdÂ's last days more comfortable. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Franciscan Hospice: 2901 Bridgeport Way West, University Place, WA 98466. A memorial service will be held at Mountain View Memorial Park, at the Celebration of Life Building, Aspen Chapel, 10:00AM, Saturday, November 13, 2004.
