Edward C. Westwood's Obituary
Edward Charles Westwood passed away on June 29, 2019 at age 85. He was able to spend the last few weeks in the comfort of his childhood home on Spanaway Lake with his family and friends close by. He was born in Pullman, Washington in 1932, the only son of Frank and Polly Westwood. He attended both Washington State University and University of Washington where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Aeronautical Engineering. He then entered the USAF where he became a Navigator and was fortunate enough to travel the world doing something he loved, flying airplanes. After retiring he spent his time designing, building, and flying model airplanes, cooking, building, reading, boating, and tinkering, but mostly staying busy. Ed always found something to occupy his time and interests. Edward is survived by his daughter Lee Ann, sons Patrick and Scott, son-in-law Bob, and three grandchildren, Rowan, Cameron, and Ian. Our family would like to thank the Tacoma Kaiser Hospice team, as well as St Joseph hospital for all the wonderful care he received in the preceding four months. His humor, sensibility, and words of wisdom will be missed immensely, but he will never be forgotten; for we hold our loved ones forever in our hearts. In the words of Ed; “Been there, done that, time to go…
