Edward R. Nielsen's Obituary
Ed Nielsen passed away suddenly but peacefully on Monday, January 16, 2006 at his home in Puyallup, Washington. He was born January 19, 1931 in Bakersfield, CA. Ed joined the military at a very young age and proudly served the U.S. Navy and U.S. Air Force. After a career in the military, Ed worked in the restaurant business and was owner of Diamond Jims Restaurant in Tacoma. He was currently employed by the Rainier Auto Group (Nissan of Burien). He was a member of the Masonic Temple, Scottish Rite, Afifi Shrine and Fircrest Golf and Country Club.Ed was preceded in death by his parents Chris and Essie Nielsen and grandson Zachary Kennedy.Ed is survived by his loving wife Ardelle Nielsen, son Chris Nielsen, daughter Linda and Tony Campanale. Stepchildren Tamara and Ron Basso, Michael and Kate Kennedy, John Kennedy, Teri and Ken Jenkins and 9 grandchildren. Brothers Raymond and Sue Nielsen and Chris and Sheridan Nielsen. His aunt Marie Nielsen and cousins Karl Nielsen and Nancy Harris.A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, January 24, 2006, at the Mountain View Valley Chapel with a reception to follow and procession to Tahoma National Military Cemetery with full Military honors.
