Edith Sophie Cadieu's Obituary
Born on Easter, March 23, 1913, passed away on the morning of April 19, 2006.She was the youngest of the four Enger sisters, born to Fred and Emily Enger . She was the last of Sisters being preceded in death by Marie Martenson of Tacoma, Molly Hanson of Moses Lake, Borgith Lovoll of Tacoma.She was born in Tacoma and then the family moved to Grandview, Washington where she graduated from high school. She moved back to Tacoma where she met and married Alfred Leslie Cadieu from Saskatchewan, Canada. They were married for 53 years. He preceded her in death in 1985.They were parents to three children: Kathleen Carlson married to Russel Carlson residing in Renton, Washington, Richard Cadieu of Irvine, California, Fred Cadieu married to Sandra Cadieu residing in Great Neck, New York.She was a very caring aunt to Rosemary Brynnestad and her family, John Lovoll, Susan Leahy and Norman Hansen. Also an Auntie to a large extended family in Canada. She was Grandma to Karen & Travers Carlson, Laura, Chaz, and Ian Cadieu, as well as Great Grandma to Richard and Jacob Carlson.She had been a homemaker and stay at home mother for many years. She was active in P.T.A. serving as P.T.A. president, Girl Scout Leader and JobÂ's daughters. She was an active member of Amaranth, Eastern Star and the organization beauceant supporting The Masons. She was a past Worthy Matron of Amaranth, past Worthy Matron of Eastern Star and also served as Secretary for both organizations as well as a Grand Representative.She was a person who cared about people, supported friends and family, Edith also enjoyed crafts, sewing, loved flowers and gardening.She lived in her family residence for many years before moving to Commencement Towers and then to Tahoma Terrace. For the last three and ½ years she has been residing at Heartwood Extended Health Care where she again met friends and enjoyed the activities.Memorial donations may be made to The Arthritis research or The Recreation Department at Heartwood 1649 E. 72nd Tacoma 98404 as appreciation of her care 1649 E. 72nd Tacoma 98404.A funeral service will be held 12:00p.m. Saturday, April 29, 2006 in The Mountain View Garden Chapel with a reception to follow.
