He grew up in Tacoma, attending Concordia Lutheran School and graduating from Lincoln High School (class of 1954), where he met his wife of 53 years, Donna (Kennel) Reinke. After graduation, he was on active duty in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Hector in Asia. After being honorably discharged, Earl returned to Tacoma and joined the Tacoma Police Department in 1959. He retired in 1980 after 21 years of service. In retirement, Earl enjoyed hunting, fishing, golf tournaments with his police "buddies", metal scrapping and playing the slots at local casinos. Earl is survived by his wife Donna, two beautiful daughters Dr. Robin Elizabeth Reinke of Tacoma and Rhonda Elaine Reinke-Sund of Yelm, a brother Ralph Reinke of Tacoma, two sisters Mary Grbich and Alice Moss of Tacoma, and numerous nieces and nephews.
