Donna, I was so sorry to read about Earl. I always appreciated that he talked to one of my sons who was having trouble in school years ago and gave him some good advice.
I hope you are doing okay - I haven't seen any of the old Finance Dept. bunch for a long time.

Donna, Robin and Rhonda,
We share your feelings of sadness and loss in losing Earl. Husband and father and friend to so many of us. We will never forget Earl pulled his patrol car up in front of the church, with lights flashing, at our wedding. He delayed the waiting procession momentarily while we drove away. Many years have passed since 1962. We will long cherish the friendship of the Reinke family . . . "We do not remember days, we remember moments." Auntie Donna,Robin and Rhonda, I will always remember the great adventures we had with Uncle Earl. The hunt for the big chunk of gold,the old coins(digging and remembering to put the grass back). Looking for that blackberry as big as your thumb or climbing the side of the hill in search of diamonds.The many nights us kids spent at your house while the grown-ups played cards or they were in the basement wrapping the deer\elk meat(you guys had way to much fun down there).I'm surpised you found a picture that Uncle Earl didn't have that finger sticking up.I'm sure Skipper is happy to see his master again. Dear Donna, Robin and Rhonda,
I was saddened to read in today's paper of the passing of Earl. I do feel your pain as I lost two husbands in 15 years. Just find peace knowing that if he was suffering that he is in a better place than we are and no longer suffering.
We must remember the GOOD times, the ski trips, camping trips and parties.
I extend my heartfelt sympathy to all of you.

I was shocked and deeply saddened by the passing of Earl, my old friend and fellow Tacoma Police Officer. Earl was my first partner with TPD back in 1974, and I was flattered that he would specifically ask to be partnered up with a "Rookie." Boy, did we have some good times out there. We conducted some extra cirricular activities in the Wagon, at times, such as collecting old bottles down on the flats at the old city dump. Earl collected anything and everything as you all know, and I'm told he kept all that stuff too!!

Seriously though, Earl was a devoted family man who was very proud of his two daughters Robin and Rhonda. His wife Donna was a special partner to him, and he was just a down to earth good guy.

I am so pleased that I had a nice, long conversation with Earl just a few months ago. We talked of old times and told a war story or two. He mentioned then how proud he was of his family.

Thanks Earl for the good times. I'll bet you are driving that old Blue riot bus and training rookies right now!!

Our hearts go out to Donna, Robin and Rhonda and the entire Reinke family.
