Dotty was one of the very first Deaf people I ever met after losing my own hearing. She and Joe and the other deaf bowlers helped me to learn sign language. I met Dorothy Hopey and her husband at TACID a few years ago and enjoyed the fellowship with them at the time. I met Dorothy and Joe when I accepted Christ in 1985 at Life Center Fellowship of the Deaf. I remember Dorothy as being very faithful to God and a real proper lady. Always dressed so pretty and had her hair done and her makeup was always just right. She was a humble Christian and always made me feel loved and welcome. I will always remember the beautiful songs she shared while leading worship, it was clear the songs came from deep within her heart.
