Dorothy Frances Williamson's Obituary
Dorothy F. Williamson
Beloved Wife, Mother, Sister and Friend
On 1/29/2009 Dorothy joined her family in Heaven. She was born to Clementina and Gerard Ruvo on 10/22/1920. She lived in Tacoma, WA all her life. In 1949 she married her husband Vaughn. Together they have two daughters, Donna Alexander (Gary) of Olympia, WA, and Deanie Ferris of Tacoma, WA. Her only grandchild, Taylor Ferris, was the brightest light of her life. She is also survived by her younger brother, Gerard "JR" Ruvo of Tacoma, WA, pet "Little Girl" and numerous nieces and nephews. Dorothy enjoyed shopping "till you drop", gardening, music, dancing, playing Blackjack and Bingo, had a great sense of humor and making everything beautiful. Her passion was cooking. She owned and operated the Hob Nob Cafe, The Pine Cone Cafe and Tacoma Bar & Grill. She had a brilliant mind for business and was a tremendous success because she absolutely loved what she did. If her health would have allowed it, she would still be working because retirement was not for her. She was much younger than her years. She was a very strong, generous, loving person who was always there for her family. She loved life. Her family would like to thank two outstanding nurses of Tacoma General Hospital who provided tender, loving care during the last days of her life, Jessica (ICU) and Simon (6J). Thank you for all the memories and teaching us so many things so we can make it on our own. We all miss you. In honor of Dorothy's wishes no services will be held, and asked us to extend her message of love to all. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to American Lung Association, Pulmonary Education and Research Foundation or National Emphysema Foundation.
