Donald Richard WilliamsJune 1, 1928 Â- August 1, 2003Don was born on June 1, 1928 to Winifred Roberts Williams and Morris Williams in Seattle. He graduated from Queen Anne High School and the University of Washington where he was a member of Phi Kappa Psi Fraternity. He served in the Army during the Korean War for two years. Don settled in Tacoma with his wife Mary, where he worked with Morgan Stanley (Dean Witter) for 45 years. After retiring, his entrepreneurial interests led him to the import-export business and a partnership in the Johnson Group.He was past president of the Tacoma Club, a member of the Greater Tacoma Community Foundation and of Fircrest Golf Club. Don served on the boards of the Tacoma Boys and Girls Club, Young MenÂ's Business Club and Tacoma Goodwill Industries. Don will be long remembered for his sharp wit and fast repartee. He was predeceased by his brother Thomas.Don leaves his wife of 47 years, Mary Elizabeth, his brother Robert (wife Lillian) and nieces and nephews. Memorial Services will be held 3:00pm Thursday in the Mountain View Valley Chapel, Lakewood, WA. Donations may be made to the Tacoma Goodwill.
