Dear Williams Family,
I was truly saddened this morning to read in the Seattle Times of the passing of Don Williams. I first met Don 46 years ago when I was 8 years old. My father wanted me to learn about the stock market first hand and therefore for my 8th birthday my parents gave me $500. with the idea that my father would take me to Dean Witter that day to meet with my stock broker and invest the money.
I have such fond memories of that day. Don Williams was wonderful! He met with me for over an hour and explained how the market worked and recommended several options. I selected Standard Oil of California. My father took me home and showed me how to read the Wall Street Journal so I could track the price each day.
One year later I decided to sell my stock and buy mutual funds which I had read about in the WSJ. I went to my father and asked him to call and make the trade. He said it was my investment and therefore I should make the call. He gave me his office and showed me the phone number.
It had been a year since I had met Mr. Williams so when the receptionist answered the phone I asked in my high little voice, "Is Mr. Dean Witter there?". She said, "He is not in right now but Mr. Don Williams is, could he help you?".
Mr. Williams was so gracious, informative, and truly inspired my love of the market. He made an impression on my life and likely for the hundreds of others he probably never met that heard this story through the years and did the same for their children, as we did as well.

Dear Mary
It's ironic that Don and I were in St. Josephs at the same time just two weeks ago, or I would not have had the pleasure of recalling with him the fun times that you, Bev, he and I had at the Orthopedic Guild funtions. He was a joy to be around and I shall always remember him.
Please accept my sincere condolences.

My condolences to you Mary and your family. It has been an honor to know Don over the years I worked with him at Dean Witter(Morgan Stanley)- His advice, experience, and most of all his sense of humor made him such a special and unique person. I will truely miss him; He was a fun person to be around at work, and on the occasional trips I had the good fortune of his company.
*All the best to you Don. My family and I will treasure our memories of you, and thank you for our good fortune knowing you.*

Don was my broker for many years. He was fun to work with. I had lunch with him at the Tacoma Club "Round Table" many times and enjoyed his company. He always had a laugh to share.##imported-begin##Cecil Royer##imported-end##
Dear Mary,
We were so very sorry to hear of Don's passing. You know I worked with him my entire career at Dean Witter. He was the backbone of our office all those years. I want to share a story that happened when I first went to work at Dean Witter in 1984. I sat right in front of Don and John West. Don wanted to get my attention and since he always had a hard time with names I heard someone calling, "June, June". And since my name was Donna I did not answer. The voice got louder and louder, finally I looked around and he said "You, come here I need (I forget what) but anyway all the years I was there, Don called me June, and would walk by my desk singing, "June in January" to me. What a guy. We will always love and remember him so fondly.
