I have known Don(Nick) since 1980. I met him through his sister Chris and will always remember him as warm, loving and caring to mention a few. It breaks my heart to hear that Don (Nick) Nicholas lost a horrible battle with cancer.
I knew Don well. We were close friends throughout high school and our early college years.
He was such a neat, fun guy with a passion for music. “Over the years I would run into him from time to time. Id see him at Austin and my son’s t-ball games, the grocery store, or local music venues.” The thing that sticks out, is not only did Don love playing his guitar but his eyes would light up with pride when he talked about his kids. My heart goes out to you and your mom durning this tough time.

Our heartfelt condolences to the entire family. A dear lifelong friend for over 40 years. You were a bright shining light of love and warmth. So many memories flood our hearts. Meeting you for the first time, being in your wedding to Debora and sharing in the birth of your beautiful children. This is my amazing cousin Nick ( to me Donnie ) Nicholas who passed last week. The pure beauty of Nick was his smile and charisma that he shared with everyone he came in contact with, truly a kind soul. I was blessed to have his beautiful smile in my life for 66 years. To quote my son Marco when I told him that Nick had passed ... Dad, he was always so kind and nice to everyone, that says it all and that's how he will be remembered. He is with his sister now Chris, who left us a few months ago. When she passed,I sent a photo of her to my daughter Angelina, she called and said ...Dad, that's Chris Ann the loving, kind one in the family... out of the mouths of babes. To me, she was an angel on earth. Now they are together, in a warm embrace as they always did. To my dear cousin Fran, who was like my sister growing up, my cousins Jeana and family, Debora, Anna, Austin, Alexander Nicolas, Rick Plueger, and the boy's my heart goes out to you all. You are no longer in pain my friend. The times we talked while you were in the hospital was hard on me to see you in such pain. You've been a good friend for many years. I will miss the times we shared the stage together. I will really miss playing golf and the competition. I will miss you talking trash and laughing at all the bad shots I was so capable of. My heartfelt condolences to Nick's family. I met Nick through a meetup group 7 years ago, and he was always so kind to everyone. Our friendship blossomed a few years ago, and his sweetness, music, and joy for life brought me great happiness. Our continued friendship has meant a lot to me, as we leaned on each other during our own personal tough times, and we kept each others' spirits up through this past year of covid. I miss Nick immensely, but will always have fond memories of our time together, and of our enduring friendship. May you find peace and hold tight your wonderful memories of Nick at this time.
