Derek Michael Brauhn
Derek Michael Brauhn Derek, 26, a beloved child of God, died tragically, on November 23, 2011. He is survived by his parents, Michael & Rebecca, sister Carmen & husband Bassione Van Soest & their daughter Vivienne, grandparents Chuck & Kathy Brauhn and Harry & Eunice DeSoto, and many other family and friends, including his Mt. View Lutheran Church family. Derek was a unique individual whose interests included music, art, fun with friends, his car, bowling and most recently his 18-month-old niece Vivienne. Derek loved his job as a fire sprinkler inspector / technician for Smith Fire Systems. Derek cared about the people in his life and had many strong friendships. We will miss him terribly. Services will be held 10:30am Saturday December 3, at Mt. View Lutheran Church, 3505 122nd Ave. E., Edgewood WA, reception to follow at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Derek's name to the Mountain View Community Center, Edgewood, WA or the Mt. View Lutheran Church Endowment Fund for use in ministry to at-risk young adults. Graveside Committal service to be held at Mt. View Memorial Park in Lakewood following the reception, at 3:00pm. Arrangements by Mountain View Funeral Home.
