Dennis W. Shaw Sr.'s Obituary
Dennis W. Shaw Senior Passed away on October 21st, 2016. He was born to Willie Earl Shaw Jr. and JoNelle Hicklin Shaw in Kansas City, Missouri on May 9th, 1945. After high school he obtained his bachelors degree in Photography before a 24-year career in the United States Air Force, where he obtained his Aeronautical Engineering degree as well. He held the only distinction as an enlisted flight examiner. He finished his service at McChord Air Force Base at the 318th Fighter Interceptor Squad in 1990. During his military service, he also married Sarah Bella Baginda on November 27, 1978 and settled in Tacoma, WA with his family since 1985. In addition, he continued his government service for 22 years as a Letter Carrier in the U.S. Postal Service and retired in 2015. He is survived by his loving wife, Sarah of 38 years, children born to them Alice Shaw Weed and Dennis Shaw II. Children adopted to them Marilyn Gilmore and Thomas Shaw, and also his daughters Dawn O'Neill, and Danielle. Survivors also include sister Catherine Spielvogel, and brothers Patrick and Michael Shaw. Dennis also had 8 loving grandchildren. Dennis loved his family, always putting them first before himself. His passions were flying, traveling, photography, gaming, boating and a love for nature and his plants. His legacy will live on through his family where we all carry his smile, laughter, and family traditions. He will be dearly missed by everyone who knew him. May he forever rest in peace.
