Dave was always Uncle Dave to me. I worked with Dave for over 20 years. I remember when I first started at the newspaper in 1979, Dave and I worked the Saturday shifts together. He always called me honey. I was quite young then and Friday nights were always a party night for me even thought I had to work Saturday morning at 5 AM. By about 11 am I would be getting tired and Dave would tell me to go take my break, take a nap in the lunch room and if Richard (our supervisor) came in he would wake me. One of the valuable things he told me was to always take time to go somewhere on vacation. He says you deserve that and own it to yourself for working all year. After Dave retired from the newspaper he made many trips to the newspaper to visit me. I always kept in touch with Dave. After he couldn't drive anymore I came to his apartment to visit him. He was always so concerned about my daughter and I after we lost Oly (my husband and Rochelle's dad). He would always ask me if I had remarried. Uncle Dave will always have a special place in my heart and will truly miss him.##imported-begin##Stephanie Haase##imported-end##
