Thanks for being my friend since 4th grade. Although we did not hang out once we went to North Thurston High School, you were in my thoughts often. The last time I seen you was at my retirement party with Lora. That was very special to me for both of you to attend. My condolences to Lora, Tom, Scott and Dale.

There has not been many times in my life I dont remember Dan not being part of it. He was family & as I listen to Frank & Joe tell thier stories of Dan during the service it reminds me of the childhood I was so blessed to have. My funniest memory of Dan was when my Dad banned him from his shop for straightening out my Dads tool boxes...my Dad told my Mom that damn kid cleaned my shop & I cant find anything. He was one of my big brothers, even as I became an adult he still called me by my childhood nick name & always had my back. Dan O was a true gem & is so missed. I have many great memories of Dan from the 6th grade on.One time we were going to get rich building these hanging cedar baskets Dan's idea :) it was fun and a neat project in wood shop. Another time we melted down brass from the firing range and made some brass mallets.He worked at the Arco station in Tillicum WA I would stop by on my way home from work he would let me cash checks there .Another time we went to SIR to watch this guy jump a bunch of cars on a motorcycle.He was a great guy and a pleasure to be around.We will miss you Dan

Wow looking at these things that everyone has shared is remarkable. I met Dan in 1981 when I worked at Nisqually Chevron. We went through some awesome times through the years. He helped me put my 1969 Nova together and he let me work on his 66 Chevelle and drive it home for the night when I was just 18, I felt so cool driving that thing! He really was an inspiration for me to be better than I thought I could be. I may have met several people on here over the years but there are a handful that I feel like I know because he talked about many of you and he always made you seem larger than life. I am glad he was a part of my life for nearly 40 years. Until we meet again your friend Troy Green
I am so deeply sorry to the Reed family and friends on Dan's passing. My sincere condolences to you all... I have so many fond memories of Dan clear back in the mid 70's and early 80's.. I can remember going 'street racing' on weekends (I was the one who was to look out for the cops LOL).... through those years, Dan had so many nice cars and they were all his pride and joy... Lots of memories of his mom, dad and brothers and hanging around their home, all were such wonderful people...... such a sad loss for you all ... Jan Bentley (Strohm)
