Dan enjoyed his forty-two year career with New York Life Insurance Company (the company you keep!). He loved bird hunting, salmon and bass fishing, boating, and his most recent passion, golfing. He worked hard at work, and he worked hard at play! We all enjoyed the wonderful life he made for us. Dan was a member of the Washington State Life Underwriters, Tacoma Estate Planning Council, CLU Society, a Life member of the Million Dollar Round Table, Sunrise and Gig Harbor Rotary, and the Gig Harbor Sportsman's Club.
Dan and Delores had 51 years of marriage, three children plus one, Dean (Cindy), Donald (Annette), Doreen Mashhoodi (Cyrus), and Kimberlee Trettin Koch; six grandchildren, David and Leila Mashhoodi, Melissa Koch Huddleston, Valerie, Monica and Andrew Koch; and one great-granddaughter, Molly Grace Huddleston. His mother, June Irene Koch, and sister, Sharon Turner, also survive him. He was predeceased by his father, Fred -Å"Fritz- Koch, and his brother, Duane L. Koch.
The family would like to extend their thanks to Dr. Moacyr Oliveira and the St. Joseph's Hospital staff and Dr. Thomas Chen and the Banner Del Webb Hospital staff.
At his request, no funeral service will be held. Interment at Mountain View Funeral Home, Lakewood, Washington. There will be a celebration of his life at the Fircrest Golf Club 1500 Regents Blvd., Fircrest, WA on Saturday, March 17, 2012 at 12:00 PM.
