Hello Dad,
I'm visiting Kara & Kaleena in Kansas at the present time. Kara got married in January to a Hispanic fellow named Michael Gonzalez. He's very nice and good to both Kara & Kaleena. Kaleena is growing so fast! She's only in 1st grade but already reading adult-level books. She's so sweet & cute! Mom probably gets tickled watching her being a "frou-frou" girl. :)
It doesn't seem like 13 years have passed since you went "home" to our dear Lord. It seems like only yesterday. We all miss you very much! I know that you and Mom are "keeping busy" watching over all of us.

Mommy,
I miss you so much, I cannot concentrate on life without you. I do know I was blessed twice on June 18. I was blessed when you gave me life on that date. And blessed when your new life began, knowing you are free of pain and suffering.

Grandma,
I have so many great memories of you, your smile, your sense of humor, your cute mix-n-match outfits (!), your stories.
You used to hum and sing songs while you were doing chores around your house, you loved to dance, and I smile when I remember the time you danced the "Electric Slide" with a group of us!
I was always amazed at how you would never forget any of our birthdays, and how you kept track of all of us, where we were, what we were doing in our lives, what our children were doing.
You cherished your family and they always came first. I am grateful that you taught us how to be close, despite the fact that we have such a large family and many live a far distance. Somehow, we've been able to remain close. Even if you're not here anymore, I know your spirit will be watching over us, and I'm sure it would make you happy to see us stay close.
I am also grateful that my daughter, Karissa, was able to spend a lot of time with you. We have both cried because we miss you very much, but we try to realize that you are no longer having to suffer any pain, and now you feel good again and can dance with grandpa in heaven.
I love you, goodbye "Glanma," (the way I would pronounce it.)

Please except my heart felt condolense. We lost our mother Anne Flores early this Spring and we miss her greatly. My older brother Leo Jr.(Sonny) passed last Novemeber.

One of my childhood memories was when all of us younger grandchildren and great-grandchildren would go visit great-grandma at her house and play in the tree house that was in the front yard. That was always a lot of fun and seeing her and great-grandpa was always enjoyable, even after the tree house and tree was taken down.
I hope that we all can remember something important about my great-grandma, and that she was always ready to step up to the plate when she needed to, and she was always there. Well, we are all here now, to honor her and celebrate her life.
