Connie L. Clark's Obituary
Connie Lee Jacobsen Brower Mix Clark, age 73, passed away in the comfort of her home on Wednesday, November 10, 2021. Connie was born in Audubon, IA on November 6, 1948 to her parents Richard and Edna Jacobsen. She graduated from Sumner High School in Sumner, WA in 1966 and went on to attend numerous universities, including the University of Oregon, the University of Washington, Shoreline College, Central Washington University, and Chapman University. Connie was a lifelong learner, earning many degrees, including an Associate Degree in Dental Hygiene, a Bachelor of Science Degree in Community Health, a Master’s Degree in Health Administration, and a Certificate in Gerontology. She was also designated a Fellow of the Academy of Dentistry for Persons with Disabilities. Connie devoted her life to both dental and public health, working as a dental hygienist for many years; as well as working for city, county, and state public health agencies for 35 years. Throughout her life, she loved to travel the U.S. with her two boys, read her many, many books; work in both her garden and her backyard wildlife sanctuary; attend monthly tea parties, and embody her favorite color, purple. Her amazing energy, wonderful heart, and selfless spirit will be truly missed by many!
Connie Clark is preceded in death by her first husband, Larry Brower of Port Orchard, WA; her second husband, Steve Mix of Tacoma, WA; and her third husband, Richard Clark of Kemmerer, WY. Connie is survived by her two sons, Chad and Jonathan; her grandson, Raiden; parents, Richard and Edna; sister, Cindy; brother, Steve; along with a niece, many nephews, cousins, and dear friends. Connie’s graveside service will be held at Mountain View Memorial Park in Lakewood, WA on Friday, November 26, 2021 at 2:30pm. Immediately following this service, there will be a gathering of family and friends at Spanaway Lutheran Church in Spanaway, WA. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Connie’s name to the MultiCare Hospice Program and/or Spanaway Lutheran Church.
