For the past 10 years of so I would go to play my favorite Road Trip. Well at the time there were four of them and there was a group of us that became friends because we would regularly see each other. Hearing about each others families and what each were up to. Connie was one of those people, she was ALWAYS nice and fun to play with and chit-chat with. Plus she was SO LUCKY, she was a serious player and I always said that this was her “job” - and she did well at it.
The Sunday after Thanksgiving I’d went to have the lobster buffet so while playing my 2 hours I visited with one of the regulars of our group. She shared that she had heard Connie had gone to the doctor and within a short period of time she was placed with hospice, having lung cancer. (even though she didn't smoke) I was SO SO SAD and bummed to hear that news, yet I never even knew her last name so I couldn’t even contact her to say I was praying for her.
I found out today that sadly she passed away on 1/25/18 :-(
R.I.P. Connie - and THANKS for all the laughs, stories, fun, blocked roads and friendship.
