Collis Seth Massey's Obituary
Collis Seth Massey, 82, of Sequim, passed away January 19, 2018 at Olympic Memorial Hospital.
Born November 9, 1935 in Junction City, OR, Collis entered the Navy after graduating high school. While in the Navy he met his sweetheart Mary and they were married in 1958. Soon thereafter he became a communications technician with Pacific NW Bell and remained with the phone company until his retirement in 1994.
Collis's unwavering Christian faith and love for Jesus and others were evident to all those around him. He was always willing to give of his time and efforts to volunteer with children's softball teams and other organizations. Collis was an avid musician and starting in the mid-80's, he joined the Boeing Orchestra and the Federal Way Orchestra as a flute player, and played with the Sequim City Band since 1997. Collis was also a faithful Mariners baseball fan.
Collis is survived by his wife of over 59 years, Mary Massey. He is also survived by his older sisters, Martha Fitzgerald of Atwater, CA, and Catherine Saul of Hagerman, ID, his sons Stephen Massey of Lake Tapps and Shawn Massey of Federal Way, and daughter Sandra Williams of Scottsdale, AZ, five grandchildren, Shelan Massey, Sharaya Norton, Brianna Massey, Harrison and Oliver Williams, and two great-grandchildren, Aiden and Austin Norton.
A funeral service will be held in the Garden Chapel at Mountain View Funeral Home, 4100 Steilacoom Blvd. SW, Lakewood, WA, Friday, February 16, 2018, at noon. An Interment Service and light lunch will follow. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be sent to the Sequim City Band, P.O. Box 1745 Sequim, WA 9838.
