I met Cleophus at Evergreen State College. We became close friends because we had similar interest, fishing, brothers in the Masonics and Retired military.

My condolences to you and your family. I met Cleophus when we worked together at Valley Wine in Tacoma. I remember him as a strong, powerful man, full of pride and determination. I was young in my career, but he always made it a point to talk with me, and share his life experiences. I have thought of him often over the years, both as a friend and in many respects as a teacher. If we could all live our lives to the extent that he lived his, this world would be a better place. I first met Cleophus as a young soldier at the Madigan Army Medical Center Orthotics Lab in 1986. He was a good friend to Reginald T. Bennett also a fellow Mason. It was a joy whenever Cleophus came for a visit for he always had a way to make to feel better when he walked into a room. Through the years I assisted Cleophus with needed things at the Lab. He was always my favorite person to see. I always had time to stop what I was working on to say hello. I know that I am a better person today having known him. He is a dear friend to many that he has touched with his kindness.He will always remain in my heart as well as his wife and family. They will remain in my prayers and in my thoughts.
