Milly, Am so sorry to hear about your mom. I remember you telling me on Adak how she used to cut her fingerpaint paper into different shapes for different holiday projects,and then I started doing that too in my class! I am sure she had a lot of patience to teach that level for so many years. Peace to you and your family at this time. Hi Milly, What a summer you have had! I just want you to know I'm thinking of you and sending warm hugs. Your mother sounds like she was a wonderful women and it must be comforting to know she is at peace. I still love the story about the nursing home staff telling her she quit smoking. . . . I was one of Milly's college roommates. We would visit each others' homes for the weekend sometimes. Milly's parents always made a big meal and were so glad we were there. Her Dad was a very witty man. I remember him saying something like, "I was so surprised when Clarann proposed to me, I nearly fell out of bed!" She would then pretend to be prudishly embarrassed. She was very good natured about his jokes. That was pretty racy humor for parents back then! I also admired her as a Mom and a teacher. She talked about students she had and remembered them years later when they would run into her. Her own children always had a full cooked breakfast every morning before school. Now I can appreciate her example of being a great working Mom! She was a strong and confident woman and I admired her.##imported-begin##Linda Armstrong##imported-end##
