Debbie Nelson
Grandma, or Grammie as my kids called her, is AMAZING! Always supportive of her kids, grandkids, and great grandkids bowling in many tournaments when she was younger, watching and attending as many sports games as she could. She’s seen Volleyball, Basketball, Football, Track, Wrestling (boys and high school girls), and her favorite Baseball. While supporting the family, she also kept on learning herself! Learning to tap dance, belly dance, going to college at 91 for accounting, able to walk for her own high school graduation in 2016 because war kept her from her ceremony in 1941. She was a teacher too, teaching us kids how to dance, play her organ, whistle, sing, dress up, ride bikes, make perfume w/ rose pedals, and climb plum/cherry trees in her front yard at the Fawcett house. There was nothing that she could not do. She was involved in many organizations but true to her heart was the Order of Eastern Star. More than a 70yr lifetime member, her dream was to have all her girls as lifetime members of Star down to her great granddaughters. She has many loves; love for life, love for laughter (many of her jokes made you blush), love for family and family gatherings, love for friends, love for dancing, love for music and always keeping a positive outlook! Thank you Grandma, we will always cherish the memories, the laughter, the fun, and you! Heaven gained a strong willed, feisty, fun, dancing angel whose now dancing with the love of her life!
