Chester Homer Good's Obituary
Chester Good, 81, lost his battle with cancer on December 27th 2010, with his loving wife and family by his side in Tacoma, Washington.
The memorial service is scheduled for Monday, January 3rd at 2 PM at Mountain View Funeral Home, 4100 Steilacoom Blvd. SW, Tacoma WA. The viewing will be Sunday, January 2nd from 2 PM to 5 PM at Mountain View.
Chet was born April 1, 1929, in Sterling Ohio to Henry and Verda Good. He was the oldest of three children.
Chet attended Chester High School in Sterling Ohio. He served in the Merchant Marines when he was a teenager. He was active in country radio for over 50 years. He worked for 18 years with WWST Radio Station in Ohio on The Chet Good Saturday Morning Show. He cut several records on B-W Music Label out of Nashville, one of his songs stayed on the top 100 chart for 9 straight weeks. Chet wrote songs for the Eddie Wayne Ministries Program on WHLO Radio in Akron, Ohio. He worked for WSEB, KWBA, WGNA, WNOK and WWOJ radio stations in Texas, New York and Florida.
His interests included family, gardening, woodworking, and football. He spent most of his time outdoors fixing things and working in his garden. He was always willing to lend a hand to anyone who needed his help.
Chet Good is survived by his wife of forty years Carolyn Good. His children Gloria VanPelt, Michael Goodson and Wendy Shutt, Melissa Goodson, Kathy Felton, Pamella and Larry Way. 13 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren also survive him. His sisters are Grace Edwards and June Horst.
