Charlotte Rae Nygren Chalker's Obituary
The Life of Charlotte Rae (Nygren) Chalker
January 18th 1935 – December 30th 2025
Charlotte Rae (Nygren) Chalker could (and did) everything she set her mind to.
She was born in Albany, Oregon, on January 18th 1935, passed away in Tacoma, Washington, on December 30th 2025. Her long life reflected steady purpose and disciplined service to the legal profession.
Dedicated and inspired, Charlotte advanced from associate to become the first female partner at her law firm. By earning that role, she opened doors for other women in a field that had long limited their progress. Her achievement stands as a lasting example of intelligent, hardworking, and determined leadership.
Charlotte’s family shaped both her resolve and her compassion. She was predeceased by her husband, Raymond Lloyd Chalker; her son, Carl Frederick Chalker; and her parents, Carl Sigurd Nygren and Persis Lucille Hulshof. She is survived by her daughter, Linda Chalker Scott, who carries forward her mother’s commitment to excellence.
Charlotte’s professional milestones and personal perseverance remain her enduring legacy. May her record of breaking barriers continue to guide and encourage future generations.
She will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved her.
