Dear Fannie, Becky, Chuck and all,
We're grateful for the opportunity to see the very descriptive obituary and Shorty's handsome picture on internet. It brings back a lot of memories of the times the Howell family waited for Shorty's return from those "far-flung" places and especially when he returned to see his baby we were calling "Becky".
He can't return to us this time, but in a sense he has never left us.
He'll always be with us in the loving memories we hold of him.

We all share your grief and sorrow over the passing of our beloved "Shorty," and we pray God's richest blessings upon you all.
We are grateful that our Air Force assignments afforded us the opportunity to be stationed near each other in Texas(twice) and in Germany, which blessed us deeply.

Dearest Fran, it is with deepest sympathy that I read the obituary on Shorty this morning. What a lifelong partnership you have had in every sense of the word. We will be praying for you daily as you adjust to this new and challenging phase of your life. I know you can do it. Afterall, look how long you dealt with Junior High kids and survived beautifully. Dear Aunt Fannie, Becky, Chuck, & Family,
We were saddened to hear of the death of Uncle Shorty. I remember how he enjoyed his visits to Benevola and can hear him speaking in his quite tone of voice. He didn't say much but when he spoke, everyone listened. Of course, Aunt Fannie was always talking!!
