CHARLES RAPHAEL "RAY" ANDERSON
Ray passed away August 10, 2014 of cancer at home surrounded by family. He was born in Iron Belt, Wisconsin in 1926 and moved to Aberdeen in 1937 with his parents. He graduated from Aberdeen High School in 1944 and joined the Navy. Ray fought in WWII in the Pacific until the end of the war. Unable to find work, he moved to Tacoma. There he began to raise a family and found work at the Fort Lewis Logistics Center as a mechanic. He retired after working there for thirty years. Ray was a talented trumpet player and played in the Eagles Drum and Bugle Corps. He also enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He was preceded in death by his parents Rudolph and Impi and his stepson Craig. Ray is survived by his wife of thirty two years Marguerite; sister Yvonne (Clay); son Mark (Diane); daughter Rebecca; stepsons John (Laura) and Ed (Peggy); daughter in law Maggie and numerous Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren. Graveside services will be held at Mountain View Memorial Park Friday, August 22, 2014 at 2:30 pm, followed by a celebration of life reception in the Oak Room. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to American Cancer Society or Hospice. Thanks to all who helped, visited and cared during Ray’s illness. Your love and support is greatly appreciated.
