Catherine M. Hoy's Obituary
Catherine (Kay) M. Hoy, 86, of Normandy Park, Washington, peacefully passed away July 12, 2006, while at Evergreen Care Adult Family Home in Des Moines, Washington, following a three year struggle with AlzheimerÂ's. Kay was born March 28, 1920 in Tacoma, Washington to John and Ida Olsen, and graduated from Stadium High School. After high school, Kay attended business school and worked as a legal secretary for the law firm of Edward Eisenhower. In 1946 she married James M. Hoy and moved to Seattle as a homemaker and mother of three boys. She loved gardening, boating, and painting, but enjoyed most being with family and friends. She is survived by her loving husband, Jim, of Normandy Park, and three sons and daughters-in-law; Ken and Deborah of Gig Harbor, Don and Judi of Port Angeles, and Doug and Cheryl of Beaverton, Oregon. In addition, she had seven wonderful grandchildren: Chris, Marshal, Jay, Aileen, Megan, Katie, Steven, and great-granddaughter, Madison. Kay's sister, Ester Callson, resides in Tacoma.In accordance with her wishes, she has been buried near her parents at Mountain View Memorial Park in Tacoma. There will be a gathering for family and friends from 1:00 to 4:00 pm on July 26, 2006 at Angelo's Ristorante, 601 SW 153RD St. Burien, WA. Kay will be deeply missed, but forever in our hearts. Remembrances may be sent to the AlzheimerÂ's Association.
