Catherine Darlene Begley's Obituary
God must have needed a great cook, singer and piano player, as Catherine Darlene Begley went to be with him on 10/14/16. She was born in Orange, TX on 07/20/44.
Her passions in life were her faith in God and her family. She loved to entertain and especially enjoyed working with children. The enjoyment she felt when singing and playing the piano, performing on a stage or helping to put on a play even after working all day was evident by the glow in her eyes and the youthful bounce in her step. Darlene was the type of individual who connected with people instantly. She could be shopping in Walmart (her other great passion) and bump into someone and it was like she had met a long lost friend. The thing that was most remarkable about her was her innate ability to lift people up and make them feel better about themselves.
She retired from DOD in 2006. She is survived by her husband of 44 years Danny Begley of Roy, WA; son James Begley of Tacoma, WA; daughter Darla Dean and grandson James Eastman of University Place, WA; brother and sister-in-law Terry and MaryAnn McDaniel of Orange, TX. Her parents Homer and Margie McDaniel of Woodville, TX preceded her in death.
We would like to thank the staff of the ICU and 6S at Tacoma General Hospital for their excellent care during her stay. We would also like to thank Marie Blackburn and Loretta May for their help and support.
