I am so very sorry Darla about your Mom’s passing. I loved her dearly and you also even though we lived so far
away. Aunt Darlene was so talented and a beautiful person inside and out. I wish I had an inch of her talent. I know you do not remember me but I am your 1st cousin from DeQuincy. I live in Sulphur La. I just found out about her passing.

Darlene is my mother. My son James and I miss her so much; she was close to us and very much a part of our lives. Her passing has left a huge void that no one else can fill.
It's still hard for my mind to grasp the fact that she is gone- it just seems really strange, like a bad dream. I know her spirit is with us and watching over us. We are relieved that she isn't suffering or in pain anymore. My heart aches that we can no longer feel her warm hugs and see her bright smile, however I know that someday we will see her again on the other side.
There is so much I could type in here to tell everyone about the kind of person Mom was, but I think anyone who knew her even a little bit already knows.
As for me, I will be forever grateful for all she shared with me about spirituality.
She taught me Christian values and how to pray. She told me all my life to trust in the Lord no matter what life throws at you. To paraphrase what she told me countless times: "If you have a problem, you gotta pray about it, ask God to handle it according to His will, and thank Him for what He is about to do in your life!"
Mom and I shared a love for music, for listening, playing and singing. She was very talented and I have no doubt that she is rejoicing and singing her heart out in heaven! I have so many memories of us that involve music. We performed together at times when I was growing up, and we had a lot of fun being involved in the Music & Theater productions in Germany. I am and have always been very proud of her for being such an accomplished musician.
Thank you to everyone for your posts to the tribute wall, and to all who attended the services last month for my mother, Darlene. I hope the happiness and caring she shared with everyone will continue to warm our hearts for a long time to come.
I will so miss Darlene, my friend for over forty years. We could not hear from each other for a while, then pick up as though it were yesterday. She was so talented, and used that God-given talent to bless so many. It was a privilege to have known her as a friend, confidant, and prayer buddy.
I know she is now in God's heavenly choir singing and worshiping him with that beautiful voice.

I am so very sorry for your great loss. Remember, not that Darlene has died, but that she lived and her life gave you memories too beautiful to forget. May God "who is near to the brokenhearted and who saves the crushed in spirit", sustain your family during this most challenging and sorrowful time. (Psalms 34:18) Please accept my heartfelt condolences.
We met Darlene and Dan thru neighbors at Hartz lake and from the very first day, she welcomed us into her life as if we were relatives. She became like a sister to us and a second grandma to our grandkids. Michael dearly loved her breads-banana, cranberry, date nut were devoured. She even made individual breads just for him. We helped each other with household repairs with Darlene always cooking up meals to sustain us through the projects. Her shrimp gumbo was to die for. Unfortunately life got so busy we missed keeping in touch and for that we will be forever saddened.Today we would have been there to show our support of Dan and his family but health issues prevented that. Please know Dan that we are here for you and will be up to see you and call you!!
All our love and support!
