It is with profound sorrow and broken hearts that we announce the untimely death of our beloved son and brother, Carlos Luna, who passed away tragically on December 05, 2025, just twenty days shy of his Christmas.
Carlos was a kind and loving adolescent whose life was characterized by a deep devotion to his family and a spirit that brought joy to everyone around him. Born on July 21, 2011, Carlos quickly grew into a young man of remarkable responsibility and warmth. He is remembered for his infectious laughter he shared, the music that constantly filled our home, and the memorable meals he loved to prepare for his family.
When his younger brother, Josiah, was diagnosed with cancer, Carlos stepped up without hesitation, taking on significant caregiving duties, preparing food, and ensuring his mother, Samatha Tamburello, could attend Josiahs vital hospital treatments. His actions during that difficult time were a testament to his immense heart and maturity far beyond his years. Carlos made every moment together enjoyable, and his presence was a source of comfort and light.
Carlos leaves behind a devastated mother, Samantha Tamburello, and his younger siblings. He is preceded in death by the future he deserved-one filled with love, laughter, and the opportunity to grow into a man he was destined to be.
We believe in justice for Carlos, who was senselessly murdered. The hole left in our lives by this tragedy is immense and irreparable. While we mourn his loss, we cling to the beautiful memories he gave us.
His memorial is at 64th and McKinley. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the venmo account @justiceforcarlos14 to help navigate this unimaginable grief and advocate for justice
