Cara Marie Covelli's Obituary
Â"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.Â" Matthew 11:28 After a gutsy 16-year battle with anorexia, on Sunday night the Lord called our darling Cara home to live a renewed life with Him in heaven. Finally freed from the bonds of her disease, we are comforted by the knowledge that she is laughing and running and enjoying a life far better than we could even imagine.Cara Marie Covelli was born on March 19, 1974 and lived in Lakewood, Wash. most of her life. She graduated in 1992 from Lakes High School, where she was a track star and straight-A student. Cara was a little girl with a gigantic spirit, and an even bigger heart. She will be remembered for her incredible generosity, a great wit and wonderful sense of humor, the yummy baked goods she bestowed freely on so many of us, and her compassion toward people and animals. Cara attacked her two primary hobbies with zeal Â- reading several books a week and building the largest collection of Flintstone memorabilia this side of the Mississippi, if not the world. She also loved to go tanning and we are so thankful to the girls at Pink Coconut for befriending her. Everyone who was blessed to know Cara, will miss her terribly, especially her family. She leaves behind her beloved feline buddy, Pumpkin, "mommy" Mary Covelli-Johnson and step-dad Mick Johnson of Tacoma, Wash.; dad and step-mom Dr. Henry and Rhonda Covelli of Post Falls, Idaho; sisters Cassie, Melissa Derry, Catie and Stephanie, and brother-in-law Rob Derry. A service and celebration of CaraÂ's life will be held Sat. Aug. 21, 2004 at 3PM, in the Mountain View Garden Chapel, 4100 Steilacoom Blvd. SW in Tacoma. In lieu of flowers, the family has set up a scholarship fund in Cara's name for Remuda Ranch Eating Disorder Clinic. Donations can be made at any Washington Mutual or Harborstone Credit Union branch, or by sending to Cara Covelli Remuda Ranch Scholarship, Washington Mutual, 4907 25th Ave NE, Seattle, 98105. YABBADABBADOO, CARA. WE LOVE YOU!
