Im PROUD to have been able to call him grandpa. He was my best friend and one of my hero's. I got the privilege of spending ALOT if not my whole life with him. I have so many memories with my grandfather they will last a lifetime. Im honored that my children his great grandson's had the chance to be in his life. Im blessed that MY grandchildren had the honor of meeting him. My grandfather had a big heart however he was a joker too. I remember one time when i was little we used to live around the corner from eachother. We lived at the beach and used to take bicycle rides together. One time we were riding together and we had our dog's with us they were puppies at this time. Grandpa had a tricycle 2 wheels in the back and 1 in the front. Well it had a basket on it where our dogs sat. We stopped to take a break on the promenade, we lived at the beach this time. While taking a break, two older ladies walking by stopped to admire out puppies. They chatted for a while with my grandpa and in the conversation they mentioned how one puppy was cuter than the other (mine was cuter) and said their goodbyes. Well grandpa said well what about that Krissie they said my puppy was cuter than yours. Well my feelings got hurt and i grabbed up my puppy and took my bike and started to walk home crying. All i could hear was my grandpa laughin and saying " Ah Krissie come back". I got all the way hm and my grandpa was on my heels. My mom asked what was wrong and i closed my self in my room. My grandpa told her what had happened and they tried all night to get me out my room. Mitzy was a good companion to my grandpa she lived a good life. I also remember the first time he spanked me too. We was still living at the beach and we were at the grocery store. I was mad cause i couldnt get no candy lol so i took an apple and i threw it at the glass above the fruit and he spanked me. He felt bad after word cause when we got back home he popped pomegranates on my white shirt and gave me the candy i wanted lol. Grandpa instealed alot in me and IM HONORED for that. Im honored to be the person i am today because of my grandfather. He taught me to be good to others, he taught me to be helpful and to do it without bein asked, he taught me to love and to be honest. I also taught him something and that was love had no color. When i found out he was sick i went to his side. I was blessed to be able to be with him. He had his jokes though. I remember i was cryin one day when he was in ICU before they moved him to hospice. He told me dont cry Krissie ill be sitting on your shoulder. I stopped cryin and asked what shoulder grandpa the good side or the bad. He said well the good side of course and we both laughed. He used to ask us kids if we wanted to go to a party and we would ask what kind. He would say a peanut butter and jelly sock in the belly party lol. I have so many stories i can go on for days. The night they transferred him to hospice i stayed with him. It meant the world to me to be able to do that. The next day as his children and i stood next to him he took his last breath and climbed the stair way to heaven. I think about my grandfather everyday. I miss him even more. However im blessed cause i came out on top of the world having him for a grandfather
