I feel so lucky to have had Burns in my life. He took awesome care of my mom in both health & sickness - I will always be grateful to him for that. I also appreciate all he did for Bob, the boys & I - he certainly saw us through some real ups & downs! I still have & use (of course he was always practical) many things he built for us. I think of him every day & wish I had done a better job of letting him know how much he meant to me while he was still with us. My deepest sympathy to you and the whole family. Our family enjoyed living next door to you on Princeton Street. Your dad and Bob shared tools; one would buy the ladder, the other would buy the post hole digger. We had grand picnics out at Taylor bay and in the back yard on the 4th of July (Louise's Birthday). I still remember Rosemary, Louise, Becky Stewart and Debbie putting on plays and ballet performances. Your Dad and your whole family were very fine neighbors. I am still living in Fircrest, maybe someday I will see you.

One fun thing was a trip to San Francisco and then on to Carmel where we toured art galleries. Had a great time. We thought the world of Burns. Boy, are you two going to be missed! Watching for you and "Charlie" to come by on your daily 'rounds' was a joyfully anticipated part of being "cross-the-street" Princeton Place neighbors for so many years. Just think, our friendship started over 70 years ago at Stadium, continued throughout our years in Fircrest and as members at the Golf Club ... sadly, I was never in your league, but we enjoyed a lot of "good cheer" together.
